How to contact us
Poznan is located halfway between Berlin and Warsaw and can be reached by train from either city or by plane from Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Warsaw.

The following carriers have direct connections to Poznan Lawica airport: SAS, LOT, AA, Lufthansa, European Air Express EAE and DauAir.

For air connections to Warsaw please check Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport

For those travelling from Cambridge/London area, there are cheap flights from London Stanstead to Berlin-Schoenefeld by Ryan Air (see e.g.

From Warsaw
From Warsaw Airport take taxi to Warsaw Central Railway Station ("Warszawa Centralna"). It is safe to take a "Radio Taxi" from the line outside the airport terminal. There is a dispatcher who will call one for you. Reject any offer of taxi from individuals approaching you when leaving the terminal. Also, we do not recommend to ride the regular city bus number 175.

Trains to Poznan leave the Warsaw Central Station approximately every hour during the day. The ride Warsaw-Poznan takes about 2 hours 40 minutes by express train.

For IC (Intercity), EC (Eurocity) and EX (Express) trains a seat reservation is required. You may buy the ticket and seat reservation at the station.

For timetable and more information see: PKP SA

From Berlin
There are three airports in Berlin and you can catch all direct trains to Poznan at Berlin Ostbahnhof ONLY.

  • From Tegel-airport:

take bus X9 (destination Hertzallee/Zoologischer Garten) to Zoologischer Garten and then any S-Bahn (going East) to Ostbahnhof.

  • From Schonefeld-airport:

take S-Bahn S9 directly to Ostbahnhof.
Alternatively, you may take a train to Berlin-Ostbahnhof, and from there to Poznan. It is easiest to check the timetable for trains at Deutsche Bahn and buy one ticket (at Schoenefeld) for the whole ride.

  • From Tempelhof-airport:

take U-Bahn U6 (destination Alt-Tegel) to Friedrichstrasse, then any S-Bahn (going East) to Ostbahnhof.

Allow 1h for journey from airport to Ostbahnhof and around 30 minutes from Tegel to Zoo (this does not include any time buffer for luggage retrieval or late arrivals). For the whole ride in bus, S-Bahn, and U-Bahn, buy a single journey ticket "Berlin AB", which costs 2,00 EUR.

International trains need approximately 3 hours to get to Poznan from Berlin Ostbahnhof. Currently, there are three trains per day (06:42 - 09:37, 12:42 - 15:37, 16:39 -19:37).
